What is PVD Coating?

PVD coated jewellery refers to jewellery that has been coated with a thin film using the Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) process. PVD coating is a popular method for improving the durability, scratch resistance, and colour of jewellery.

  • Reduced Waste

    PVD coating produces very little waste compared to other coating methods. The process is performed under vacuum conditions, which means that there is no excess material to dispose of, and any unused material can be recycled or reused.

  • Reduced Hazardous Emissions

    PVD coating does not use any solvents or chemicals that can release harmful emissions into the atmosphere. The process is performed under vacuum conditions, which means that there are no emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or other hazardous gases.

  • Energy Efficient

    PVD coating requires less energy than other coating methods. The vacuum process used in PVD coating requires less energy than the high-temperature processes used in other coating methods, reducing energy consumption and associated greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Longer Product Life
